Youth Speaks - The Final 27 April 2008
24/04/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
Cherie Booth & Gautam Lewis has said “Yes” to an invitation to be a Judge in the Rotary Youth Speaks Competition taking place at The City of London School for Boys on Sunday 27th April 2008. In assessing the presentations, attention will be paid to the following:All team members: Effective use of voice, easy manner, natural gestures and whether the personality of the individual comes over to the audience. Humour, in the right context, will be appreciated. Notes can be used, but they should not be too obvious; simply reading written content will be penalised. Audio-visual aids are NOT permitted. JFK runway closed for good cause
24/04/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
For more then 30 years, the Rotary Club of JFK International Airport, New York, USA has taken over a major runway to raise thousands of dollars through a 5k race.
“It is a unique race, as the main runway is actually closed to aircraft landing and taking off,” says Emmlynn Taylor, the group/sponsorship chair for this year’s Thomas Carmody Memorial JFK Rotary Club 5K Runway Run, held on 13 April at John F. Kennedy International Airport, which serves the New York City area. Planes are routed to a secondary runway during the event.
