Here is a short movie from our recent Freedom Wings days, June 28th and July 24th & 25th with the young carers from Spurgeons. Every carer whom we met during the last few days playing with aeroplanes have a very special and important job to do.

They sacrifice so so much to care for loved one who have a wide range of disabilities.  Spending time with them certainly brightened up our day and we sincerely hope they all had a day to remember.

Rageh Omaar presents Witness, a half-hour daily documentary series on Al Jazeera network which features short, specially commissioned or acquired films gathered from independent film-makers.

Each documentary reveals the unknown lives of ordinary people, following their lives, telling their stories and portraying the challenges that confront them.

The witnesses are people in a situation or those who have observed them first hand. Jo head will be making a film for Witness about Gautam’s travel back to Kolkata where he will be taking photographs for an exhibition to coincide with World Polio Day ; Oct 24th 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

One women in aviation who i deeply admire is called Suzi Duncan. She lives in Melbourne, Australia and is herself a pilot with lower limb disability. She is also a flying instructor and an inventor. She designed the Vision air hand control which helps pilots with lower limb disabilities to operate the rudder and ground steering of a PA28. We have become friends and she has helped me and mentors me with my flying. She helped set up Wheelies with Wings in Australia, visit their site…

My friend Gavin loves his hop hop and drum and bass - he also runs a fashion company called THTC - The Hemp Trading company - during last years new years celebrations, Gaving produced a pilots log book - it was his brothers who trained in Africa many years ago - this is a funny video that Gavin made - check it - all the sounds are done by the human beatbox - not sure what the US or French rappers would think to this - who cares!

Rotary UK and Ireland invited Gautam Lewis to be a speaker at their annual conference in Blackpool, April 2008 , to talk about polio eradication. Felt great to have had the opportunity to speak about something close to his heart…sky’s the limit!
