My friends wedding, Hampshire cottage
26/06/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
One of my close friends William got married at the weekend. It was a very very cool wedding. It was great to see old friends and make new friends. My initial plan was to fly from Cranfield to Chichester which was only 8 miles away from the wedding venue which was Hampshire Cottage - An amazing home owned by Rupert who has become a friend. Rupert is a lawyer, photographer and philanthropist doing amazing work in Bangladesh.

the human beat box - just for fun
28/05/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
My friend Gavin loves his hop hop and drum and bass - he also runs a fashion company called THTC - The Hemp Trading company - during last years new years celebrations, Gaving produced a pilots log book - it was his brothers who trained in Africa many years ago - this is a funny video that Gavin made - check it - all the sounds are done by the human beatbox - not sure what the US or French rappers would think to this - who cares!

Singapore A380 lunchtime departure
12/05/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.

As I drove down the A40 (the westway) past the BBC, i could see in the distance a departing aeroplane taking off from Heathrow rway 09. I was thinking that it could be a very heavy 747 as the take off seemed very slow - as I stopped at the lights, i could see that it was the lunchtime departure for the Singapore airlines A380. It was my first sighting of the super jumbo taking off across london. I live right under the flight path to heathrow and i was really liking the silky way the aeroplanes climbs. The plane is very big as i right behind the A380 was a Quantas 747-400 which looked smaller from the ground

We are the superlative conspiracy
22/04/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
This afternoon, i received a parcel and it was a gift from my friend Scott. he sent me a pair of headphones which are very funky and cool. They sound pretty awesome too and i can now have a nice sound to listen to when editing movies. I said to him as a thank you that i would get a nice picture of me wearing them when i see Cherie Blair this sunday. Check out their website http://www.wesc.com/ - I wonder whether they could make a special range for us pilots - i will ask….

Pilot Philosophy…
02/04/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
The difference between a duck and a copilot?
The duck can fly.
A check ride ought to be like a skirt.
Short enough to be interesting, but long enough to cover everything.
Speed is life.
Altitude is life insurance.
It only takes two things to fly:
Airspeed, and money.
The three most dangerous things in aviation:
1. A Doctor or Dentist in a Bonanza.
2. Two captains in a DC-9.
3. A flight attendant with a chipped tooth.

Gautam Budha Airport
28/03/2008 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
I picked my friend up from Heathrow this morning. He returned after spending a few months in Nepal. During his travels, he met a photographer. My friend Paul explained to the photographer that I was a pilot and to his surprise he had taken this photograph of Gautam Budha Airport (my own name is Gautam)….a nice message from the photographer too which reads “Dear Gautam, maybe one day you will fly to the birthplace of your namesake”
cheeky me has edited the image to make me the Budha….zoom in to the face for a close up. I have to one day visit this airport..

Psalm 23 for pilots
26/10/2007 by Mr Shoe Wingtips.
I got a really lovely message today from a friend of my mothers in who is living in New York City. He had visited Freedom in the Air and was liking what can be possible for people in aviation with disabilities..he included this nice psalm - a thought provoking message that we need from time to time.
The Lord is my Sky Pilot,
I will not be afraid.
He lets me fly over green pastures
And guides me across many waters,
As He refreshes my soul.
He elevates me to the Sun above the clouds,
Where His name is exalted.
Even though I fly through times
Of turbulence and stormy weather,
I will fear no fall;
For You are with me,
Your stick and compass
They bring me in.
You prepare a landing for me
In the presence of adverse conditions.
You bless my flight with ample fuel
And my plane flies perfectly.
Surely good times and joy will follow me
All the flying hours of my life,
Then I will fly west and land
In the Lord’s aerodrome forever.
